There are 7 faculty involved, one from Electrical Engineering (Michael Georgiopoulos), two from Computer Engineering (Ronald DeMara, and Avelino Gonzalez), two from Computer Science (Erol Gelenbe and Annie Wu), one from the Industrial Engineering and Management Systems program (Mansooreh Mollaghasemi), and one from Education Foundations Department (Marcella Kysilka). One of the important ideas of this proposed effort is to incorporate these curriculum changes to the entire spectrum of the engineering and science disciplines, an idea that is feasible due to the universal appeal of the machine learning field to a wide variety of disciplines. In addition to developing textbook materials for our proposed Current Topics in Machine Learning courses we also intend to produce demos of our successfully demonstrated research modules, and code of machine learning algorithms with which the students have experimented and produced innovative results. All these educational materials will be available on the web.
